Job Description

Program Overview

About The Role

Join Peraton in advancing the safety, efficiency, and modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS) through the FAA’s Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) contract. As a trusted partner to the Federal Aviation Administration, Peraton helps deliver the systems and services that keep our nation’s skies safe and connected.

We’re looking for innovative professionals who thrive in mission-critical environments and are passionate about shaping the future of air traffic management. This is your chance to make an impact on one of the world’s most vital transportation infrastructures, working alongside leaders in aviation, engineering, data science, and systems integration.

At Peraton, you won’t just support the mission — you’ll define it.

Peraton is seeking an  Air Traffic Control/Traffic Management Liaison.  In this role you will bridge the gap between technical modernization initiatives and operational air traffic management needs. You’ll work directly with FAA stakeholders, system engineers, and program leaders to ensure that new systems, tools, and procedures align with real-world air traffic control (ATC) and traffic flow management operations.  This role is ideal for experienced aviation professionals who combine operational expertise with strategic insight — helping shape the systems and solutions that will define the future of U.S. air traffic management.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between FAA air traffic operations, traffic management organizations, and BNATCS program teams.

  • Provide operational insight and subject matter expertise to ensure new technologies and system upgrades support the mission of safe and efficient air traffic management.

  • Collaborate with FAA program offices, system developers, and integration teams to align modernization efforts with controller and traffic management workflows.

  • Participate in the planning, design, and implementation of next-generation ATC and traffic management capabilities.

  • Translate operational requirements into system and program objectives, ensuring solutions meet field user needs.

  • Support FAA modernization initiatives by identifying operational risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.

  • Contribute to strategic planning and business development efforts to expand Peraton’s role in FAA mission areas.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with FAA operational leaders, regional managers, and key industry stakeholders.

  • Represent Peraton at FAA technical and operational working groups, program reviews, and stakeholder forums.

  • Monitor program performance, cost, and schedule to ensure deliverables align with FAA objectives and expectations.

  • Support proposal development and pre-sales activities by defining operational use cases, performance metrics, and user benefits.

  • Communicate effectively with FAA leadership and Peraton management on progress, performance, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA
  • 10+ years of experience in air traffic control, traffic management, or aviation operations, including work with FAA systems and procedures.

  • Deep understanding of NAS operations, traffic flow management, and ATC system dependencies.

  • Proven ability to liaise between technical and operational communities to align system design with mission needs.

  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated success in managing or supporting FAA or other federal aviation programs.

  • Experience with strategic planning, program oversight, and performance reporting.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across technical, business, and operational teams in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting FAA modernization programs such as NextGen, TFMS, TBFM, STARS, ERAM, or SWIM.

  • Prior FAA or DOD air traffic control or traffic management certification.

  • Knowledge of FAA program management, acquisition, and systems engineering processes.

  • Experience with systems integration, testing, and user acceptance within the ATC environment.

  • Familiarity with aviation safety management systems (SMS) and operational risk assessment.
