Job Description

Position is located at a government facility. The officer is stationed at many different parts of the property. Candidates with law enforcement, correctional, or military experience will receive special consideration. The officer may be stationed at different parts of the property depending on the position/shift they are applying for, including: the central command center, any of the gates on the property, and in the company vehicle to conduct roving patrols. As a security officer, the overall objective is to protect the client’s premise from the hazards of fire, theft, accidents, vandalism, trespassing, and other damaging influences, both internal and external, maintaining law and order, protecting lives and property, as well as all other client specific duties.

Requirements:

• Must have or be able to obtain an Illinois PERC card
• Must have or be able to obtain an Illinois FOID (Firearms Owners Identification) Card and an Illinois FCC (Firearms Control) Card 
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have reliable transportation 
• Must have a clean background – no felonies
• Must be able to pass a drug screen
• Must be able to work any shift
• Must possess high school diploma or GED
• Must be able to deal with the public
• Must be able to read, write, and speak clear/fluent English
• Must be able to walk, climb stairs/ladders, stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, lift, and work in extreme heat/cold
• Good physical health and fitness is essential
• Eyesight corrected to 20/20 vision as well as a normal sense of hearing and smell are essential
• Must be able to observe and report correctly and in a timely manner; this includes verbal and written reporting
• Must be able to be always highly visible and alert in order to act as a deterrent against theft, trespassing, or vandalism of the client’s property
• An officer is responsible for acquiring and maintaining all license and certification needs to perform their duties
