Job Description
Job Summary (List Format):
- Utilize Thruput Manager software architecture and batch routing techniques to develop customer solutions.
- Gather, process, and analyze SMF data for system performance and capacity planning/support.
- Process and analyze data using MXG and SAS PDB, leveraging advanced SAS programming skills on open system platforms.
- Manage and develop SAS/MXG applications on Linux, including proficiency in Linux BASH scripting.
- Administer and tune system performance using tools such as RMF, Omegamon, TEPS, and Intellimagic.
- Architect and administer WLM policies for workload management.
- Apply system programming knowledge of mainframe architecture and application environments for capacity and performance management.
- Conduct statistical analysis of SMF data to support capacity and performance decisions.
- Create visual communications and reports to clearly present analysis findings, solutions, and recommendations to stakeholders and senior IT management.
- Translate business goals and guidelines into resource usage criteria for capacity management.
- Demonstrate strong communication and negotiation skills when interacting with customers to ensure business and technical requirements are met.
- Work with a variety of software and hardware including z/OS v2.4, JES2/NJE, TSO, ISPF, SDSF, and other mainframe/performance management tools.
- Utilize MS Office Suite, VISIO, and secure file transfer tools (QWS3270 Secure, SFTP, WinSCP, MobaXterm).
- Ensure Linux Red Hat and security software (PAM/A2A) are effectively used in application management.
