About the opportunity:

SWCA Environmental Consultants has several openings for an Environmental Inspector to work on a short-term project. If this is something you can commit to and are committed to providing the highest quality work for our project, then we encourage you to apply.

What you will accomplish:

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations for transmission line and related construction activities. 
  • Project work may include water resources, habitat restoration, wildfire monitoring, and watershed studies.
  • Supervise installation and maintenance of BMPs, erosion control devices (ECDs), and environmental exclusion areas during construction. 
  • Use topographic maps, GPS units, aerial photographs, and other maps and tools in the field.
Experience and qualifications for success:
  • Two years of experience in environmental consulting inspection of transmission line and/or oil and gas/pipeline projects required.
  • Able to inspect to pipeline and related facilities
  • Familiar with soil erosion control and BMP installation and maintenance.
  • Able to work in remote areas, use ATVs or other four-wheel drive type vehicles.
  • Must have valid driver's license and able to meet SWCA’s driver requirements and pass a background check.

An employee in this in this Austin, TX-based position can expect a base hourly pay rate of $25.20-$37.80/hr., with certain client project contracts offering a premium rate. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law.
