Job Description:  Facilities Manager

Position Summary:
The Facilities Manager will lead and oversee the renovation and construction efforts of the company’s office and manufacturing facilities to ensure they meet operational, code, and compliance standards. This role requires strong knowledge of construction practices, building codes, electrical systems, and manufacturing infrastructure. The ideal candidate will coordinate contractors, manage timelines and budgets, and serve as the onsite lead during all phases of facility modification and site build-out.

Key Responsibilities:
Renovation & Construction Oversight:
  • Manage the end-to-end progress of office and manufacturing facility renovation projects
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, general contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure alignment with operational needs
  • Monitor project progress, quality, timelines, and safety compliance
Code & Standards Compliance:
  • Ensure all facility upgrades comply with local building codes, fire codes, ADA, electrical, and environmental regulations
  • Align renovation projects with internal manufacturing standards, such as ESD control, workflow layout, and cleanroom readiness if applicable
  • Work closely with regulatory bodies and internal teams to support inspections and permitting
Electrical & Infrastructure Knowledge:
  • Understand industrial electrical systems, power distribution, panel loads, and grounding requirements
  • Provide input on the design and installation of electrical systems to support manufacturing equipment
  • Coordinate installation and upgrades of utilities (power, HVAC, water, gas, etc.) based on facility needs
Project Coordination & Stakeholder Communication:
  • Maintain detailed construction schedules, coordinate project milestones, and mitigate risks or delays
  • Communicate regularly with leadership on project status, budget updates, and facility readiness
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all facility-related construction activity onsite
Documentation & Vendor Management:
  • Maintain accurate documentation including drawings, permits, inspection logs, and contractor agreements
 
  • Select and manage contractors, vendors, and service providers
  • Ensure contractor compliance with safety, quality, and contractual terms
 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Facilities Management, or
related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience managing commercial or industrial renovation/construction projects
  • In-depth understanding of construction codes, industrial building standards, and electrical systems
  • Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, local building inspection processes, and permitting
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment or factory build- out
  • Certification in construction safety (e.g., OSHA 30)
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and facility layout diagrams
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore, AutoCAD)

Working Conditions

  • Full-time, on-site role with frequent walkthroughs in active construction zones
  • May require off-hours availability during project phases or inspections
  • Must be able to navigate unfinished spaces and wear appropriate PPE
