Job Description

Pinon Unified School District is seeking a High School Social Studies Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing quality education to high school students and ensuring their academic success. The teacher will be a member of a collaborative team that upholds the district's vision of providing the best education available to the children of our community. With three campuses and over 1000 students, this position offers a dynamic and rewarding teaching opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver effective and engaging Social Studies lessons to high school students.
  • Assess and evaluate student understanding and progress using a variety of methods.
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievement and progress.
  • Attend parent-teacher conferences and collaborate with parents and guardians to encourage student success.
  • Participate in school-wide events and promote a positive school community.
  • Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for students.
  • Fulfill any additional duties or responsibilities as directed by the school principal.

Requirements

  • Hold a valid Arizona Department of Education State Teaching Certification in secondary education
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Social Studies related content area.
  • Master's Degree is preferred to meet requirements for Dual Enrollment College Courses.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Common Core State Standards and proficiency in standards-based instruction.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to use technology to enhance instruction and student learning.
  • Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
