Responsibilities: Strategic Contributions & Outcomes
Conduct legal research and deliver concise analysis to support business decisions and compliance initiatives.
Review, draft, and edit contracts and legal documents, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
Contribute to the development and improvement of policies and procedures that drive legal compliance and operational excellence.
Engage in special projects that advance the Legal Team’s strategic goals and support Cigna’s mission to improve health outcomes.
Build professional relationships through networking with in-house counsel, business leaders, and cross-functional partners, gaining exposure to diverse legal career paths.
Required Qualifications
Current law school student in good academic standing at an accredited institution.
Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
Completion of first year of law school by internship start date.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively in team environments and show professional work habits.
Capacity to understand situational context and respond with logical analysis.
Ethical use of technology to enhance productivity and achieve goals.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
This position is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa support including H-1B or CPT/OPT/STEM, etc. , now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Excel.
Interest in healthcare law, compliance, or regulatory affairs.
Demonstrated initiative in academic, professional, or community settings.
Additional Information
Location: Bloomfield, CT or St. Louis, MO. In-office presence expected 3–4 days per week.
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), starting May 18- July 24th, 2026 (10 weeks)
Internship Orientation: May 18–20, 2026, in Bloomfield, CT
