Under general direction, the Program Support Analyst performs a variety of highly complex and professional administrative duties in the planning and coordination of the activities of the assigned program while providing administrative and technical staff assistance to the assigned Program Manager in the Human Services Agency. This role supports the Alignment and Guidance Program’s broader mission, which encompasses community outreach, engagement, and the administration of related Economic Support & Self Sufficiency (ESSS) contracts and initiatives.
ESSENTIAL TASKS & DUTIES
According to Civil Service Commission Rule 109, the duties specified below are representative of the range of duties assigned to this job class and are not intended to be an inclusive list; may include additional duties as assignedEducation: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience in a general administrative capacity of which two (2) years (4000 hours) are in the field of human services. This experience includes responsibility for functions such as budget administration, contract administration, program planning and policy development, or statistical research.
Substitution Language : Additional qualifying experience as stated under the experience requirement may be substituted for up to two (2) years of the required education on a year-for-year basis (30 semester/45 quarter units equals one year).
Substitution for Experience: Possession of a Master’s degree in social work, business administration, public administration or related field may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience as described above for all specialties.

SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONNAIRE (WEIGHT: 100%)
Candidates will be prompted to complete a supplemental questionnaire as part of the online employment application process. The Supplemental Questionnaire is designed to measure applicant’s relative knowledge, skills and abilities in job-related areas, identified as critical for successful performance. These may include but are not limited to: interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills, collaboration skills, and project management.
Candidates must obtain a passing score on the Supplemental Questionnaire in order to be placed on the eligible list for positions in this job Class.
Candidate exam responses will be vetted as appropriate using AI use detection software. Evidence of use of AI, plagiarized answers, or falsified information in exam responses will be addressed in accordance with Civil Service Rules related to fraud and cheating.
The above test components are considered standardized and, therefore, test questions and answers are not available for public inspection or review.
Eligible List/Score Report:
A confidential eligible list of applicant names that have passed the civil service examination process will be created and used for certification purposes only. An examination score report will be established, so applicants can view the ranks, final scores and number of eligible candidates. Applicant information, including names of applicants on the eligible list, shall not be made public unless required by law. However, an eligible list shall be made available for public inspection, upon request, once the eligible list is exhausted or expired and referrals resolved. The eligible list/score report resulting from this civil service examination process is subject to change after adoption (e.g., as a result of appeals), as directed by the Human Resources Director or the Civil Service Commission.
The duration of the eligible list resulting from this examination process will be of six (6) months and may be extended with the approval of the Human Resources Director.
