About the Role

Optimal is looking for an SEO Strategist to join our innovative, growing SEO team. Optimal specializes in comprehensive SEO strategies, including industry-leading content marketing, link building, and on-page and off-page optimizations.

The ideal candidate has previous SEO experience and can independently create and execute strategies that improve organic visibility across search engines and emerging LLM platforms. They are comfortable taking ownership of both implementation and reporting, ensuring strategies translate into measurable results.

At Optimal, you’ll collaborate with experienced SEO professionals while working directly with clients to grow high-quality traffic, expand visibility across platforms, and drive meaningful conversions. This role offers hands-on exposure to advanced SEO tactics and the opportunity to influence how brands succeed in an evolving search landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality, research-backed content in line with the SEO strategy
  • Conduct comprehensive SEO audits to identify opportunities for organic growth
  • Perform LLM audits to create GEO strategies employing on-page and off-page tactics
  • Implement on-page SEO best practices, including metadata, structured data, internal linking, and schema markup
  • Partner with developers to implement technical SEO recommendations such as redirects, canonicalization, image optimization, and site speed improvements
  • Monitor and analyze performance through analytics and reporting tools, delivering clear insights and actionable recommendations to clients

     

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant SEO experience
  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, Analytics, English/Writing, or Communications; or relevant experience through school and/or internships
  • Ability to extract meaningful insights from data analysis and make specific SEO recommendations
  • Some experience with Google Analytics and Google Search Console
  • Strong written and communication skills are a must
  • Familiar with best practices for technical SEO components such as schema, canonicals, Core Web Vitals, and XML sitemaps
  • Some experience with SEO platforms and tools (e.g. Moz, WebCEO, Ahrefs, etc.)
  • Familiarity with conversion rate optimization best practices and ability to identify opportunities for improvements throughout clients’ websites
  • Desire to learn about GEO and expand skill set in AI-friendly content creation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS is a plus

Office Hours

This role is based out of our Austin office. Our Austin team works on a hybrid basis, with three days per week working in the office and two days per week working from home. Work hours are consistently 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday - Friday, with the expectation that evening and weekend work will be required as necessary.
