While reporting to the Department Manager as the 1st Shift Supervisor you will be responsible for the safety, quality, continuous improvement, material handling, and cost performance for the Oakdale plant. A qualified candidate must possess strong leadership skills, be responsible for effective plant communications, development, and discipline. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and secure work environment, correcting unsafe acts/conditions, facilitating monthly safety meetings and inspections, investigating accidents, supporting food safety system improvements, supervising and coordinating employees and activities to meet safety, quality, productivity, and housekeeping standards, facilitating on-the-job training and development, maintaining production, spoilage, and downtime records, leading problem solving sessions, monitoring machine parts and supplies, evaluating product quality, reviewing production schedules, managing maintenance work orders, following SOPs and JSPs, establishing effective work relationships, working assigned 12-hour rotating shifts including overtime and on-call duties, responding to emergency directions, maintaining environmental documentation, complying with safety and environmental regulations, and minimizing waste generation. Required qualifications include experience with LEAN practices (5s, SMED, problem solving), broad manufacturing plant experience, preferably a college degree, minimum 5 years job-related experience, supervisory skills, ability to handle confidential information, computer proficiency, basic math skills, attention to detail, ability to analyze statistical data, and maintaining professional competence and ethical integrity. This position is located in the Oakdale, California facility.
