POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Social Media Marketing Intern will be responsible for supporting the marketing team with various initiatives for Rise Brands’ concepts including Pins Mechanical Company, 16-Bit Bar+Arcade, and No Soliciting. They will be responsible for assisting with social media monitoring, content creation, community management and other marketing projects, as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Social Media Specialist with content brainstorming and creation for various social media platforms.
- Interact with our customers on social media; resolve customer experience issues, reply to reviews, find ways to surprise and delight our customers.
- Participate in social listening and prospective customer engagement via social media (i.e., liking photos, leaving comments on photos, and other engagement tactics).
- Prepare and schedule social media posts.
- Track and analyze data from marketing initiatives to measure performance.
- Contribute to competitor research and analysis.
- Support the identification of new trends and ideas; follow and report on social media trends like news tools, memes and more.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- College student based in the central Ohio area majoring in marketing, communications or public relations OR recent college graduate in any of the aforementioned fields
- Ability to work 20 to 25 hours per week in office
- Strong communications skills and ability to write in “brand voice”
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging videos and photos in a deadline-based environment
- Excellent awareness of social media and cultural trends
- Passion for collaboration and respect for teamwork
- Ability to take and follow direction, but also problem solve independently
- Curious mindset and ability to think outside the box
- Experience with social media marketing platforms like Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, Sprout, etc. a plus
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator also a plus
