We’re PS & Yao’s Bakery — a fast-growing French-Asian inspired bakery known for our madeleines, premium ingredients, and unique flavor combinations (think Brontë pistachio, Corsican honey, Japanese matcha). After a string of sold-out pop-ups and festival buzz, we’re ready to grow — and we’re looking for our first technical hire in the kitchen.

‍ The Role

We’re seeking a part-time baker to support madeleine production in preparation for food festivals, pop-ups, and wholesale expansion. The ideal candidate will be trained and capable of working independently after onboarding.

You’ll be working in a shared commercial kitchen in Harlem, alongside us during training sessions, and on your own as trust and skill develop.

✅ Must-Have Skills

• Solid baking fundamentals
• Confident using a piping bag and able to temper chocolate
• Comfortable making:
  • Crème pâtissière
  • Crème anglaise
  • Ganache
  • Jams and syrups

✨ Bonus Points For

• Experience in French patisserie or Asian baking
• Having worked in pop-up settings, small batch production, or fast-moving kitchens
• A creative streak or eye for detail in presentation

Location & Schedule

• Shared commercial kitchen in Harlem
• Weekdays or Saturdays, daytime shifts — flexible timing
